One of my favorite parts of this chapter is the banter between Jacob and Edward that no one else is privy too because it's simply Edward listening to Jacob's thoughts and reacting. Jacob's right, for everyone but Bella he could be an absolute nightmare to live with. I can't imagine someone being aware of my every thought. Scary.

Jacob uses all of his strength to be there with Bella because he thinks her time may be limited to only minutes. Although it wasn't his intention to come up with a treatment for her, he isn't willing to jeopardize any effort that could help. Bella appreciates him being there although it has to be hard for her to drink her cup of blood in front of him.

And then there's the meeting with the members of Sam's pack. Leah certainly has Sam figured out and Jacob is amazed by how alike they are all thinking. Whether he wants it or not, Jacob is definitely the Alpha of his own pack now.

Was anyone else slightly surprised by this new turn for Bella? Not only was she able to drink the blood but she actually enjoyed it and wanted more.
