Isle Esme

In lieu of recent violence in Brazil, which was considered as one of possible shooting locations for part of the Breaking Dawn, I have been thinking of the actual/imaginary palace from BD - Isle Esme. As we all know, it's an fictional island near Rio de Janeiro, owned by Cullen family which was a present from Carlisle to Esme. Edward manages to keep the actual location of his and Bella's upcoming honeymoon an absolute secret 'till they actually get there. Even though the Isle Esme is not on an actual map, there's plenty of little uninhibited (or privately owned) island off shore that could serve as a prototype for this one. According to online travel guides, most of these islands feature fine sand beaches, jungle-covered wilderness, abundance of marine life and very few inhabitants. A perfect honeymoon spot, right?
Naturally, since our beloved couple gets to finally consummate their relationship on Isle Esme, it has a very special spot in every fan's little romantic heart. There are numerous fanfictions written about what happened there (of course, who can be possibly satisfied with the "dimming the lights" version of Spephenie's PG-13 book? ;)). There's artwork, jewelry and scents created in attempts to express beauty and sensuality of the time Bella and Edward spent there.
So... anybody had an amazing honeymoon experience inspired by Twilight? Planning a once-in-a-lifetime trip with your loved one and have Breaking Dawn images stuck in your mind? I'd love to hear your reactions/stories. Pictures? Even better :)

'Breaking Dawn' filming latest news

There have been some new developments this week regarding 'Breaking Dawn' filming.

First up Summit announced that they had hired casting directors for the movie (read the press release below)hopefully this will stop the rash of false online 'casting' companies scamming individuals by claiming to be part of the 'Breaking Dawn' casting department;
"Official local casting directors have been hired for THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN. Stuart Aikins reprises casting duties for Vancouver-based casting. Fincannon and Associates Casting is handling talent searches for Louisiana-based casting. Both work under LA-based casting director Debra Zane. There are no other casting organizations involved with the production at this time"

Secondly USA Today and AFP (two usually reliable sources) wrote an article on the unsettled situation in Rio and how it may affect 'Breaking Dawn' filming there. As you know Bella and Edward go through Rio de Janeiro on their way to Isle Esme and it had been hoped that these scenes would be shot there;
"The blockbuster "Twilight" vampire movies' production company may scrap Rio de Janeiro filming plans following Saturday's deadly shootout and hostage taking at the luxury InterContinental Hotel, Agence France Press reports.  The Rio de Janeiro agency responsible for promoting movie production is attempting to convince the U.S.-based 'Twilight' production company to move ahead with plans to shoot scenes there, according to AFP. At stake: about $1 million the filming was expected to inject into the local economy.Summit Entertainment had planned to shoot scenes for "Breaking Dawn" - the final installment in the "Twilight" series - in a Brazilian city famous for both its beautiful beaches and its rampant street crime, the article says.
The company apparently hadn't counted on the film's concept being so close to reality."

Vampires are a $7 billion business in Hollywood!

MTV is reporting that according to a report done by The Hollywood Reporter the vampire phenomenon has generated over $7 billion since "Twilight" first hit theaters in 2008. That is in less than two years! Where has this all come from? Well MTV broke it down;

Films

Just last weekend, "Vampires Suck" made $20 million at the box office. "The Twilight Saga" has cumulatively made more than $2 billion in a combination of movie theater and home video receipts. While other non-romantic vampire films ("Underworld: Rise of the Lycans," "Daybreakers") haven't done as well in theaters, the upcoming "Let Me In" and "Priest," plus the two parts of "Breaking Dawn," are sure to bring in a few billion over the next few years. Add that to the many vampire films in production ("The Historian," "Vamps," "The Passage" and a new "Underworld") and you've got many more dollars to be made.

Television

Nikki Reed talks about 'Breaking Dawn'
