The Twilight fandom is like a spiderweb, it sucks you in, and never lets go. It gets wider and more diverse with every new story you read, new pictures you see and yes, new music you hear. I absolutely adored the Twilight OSD, fell in love with The Muse and soon found the playlists Stephenie Meyer compiled for each book on her official website - Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn and even unpublished Midnight Sun. Well, not surprisingly, our favorite author has an amazing taste in contemporary music! Being not so well educated in the matter before, I happily discovered through TwiMusic quite a few bands that still enthrall and inspire me as it does many other Twifans:
So far, both movies OSTs as well as original scores were an instant favorites of mine, the kind that you play over and over and each time discover new nuance in the music or lyrics that makes you like it even more. I thought the original Twilight's Bella's Lullaby by Carter Burwell was very pretty, but Alexandre Desplat's New Moon melody just swept me off my feet. It has this uplifting sadness in it, makes you want to smile through tears... Alexandre certainly didn't need New Moon to help him establish his movie-composer reputation, he already took part in scores (pun intended) of major films and in this one he didn't disappoint. You can better appreciate the role that "background" music plays in the movies when you're watching deleted or unfinished scenes on DVD, which only include voices (and often-heavy breathing :)) but no music. It feels eerie and empty without the music's help. So, what are your personal favorites that you discovered through Twilight Universe? Any new finds? Other fan recommendations? What are you ideas for the Eclipse soundtrack? Who would you like to see on it? I'm still amazed that Evanescence is nowhere to be seen, it just seems like such a perfect fit...
I've found that the New Moon wolf pack members tend to blend together for me, so I figured we here at EoA would get to know each of the actors in preparation for Eclipse. Who better to start with than the very actor who plays wolf pack leader, Sam Uley?
First, it should be noted that Chaske Spencer's name is pronounced "Chess-Kay". Like his character in New Moon, Chaske is of Native American descent, though of the Lakota Sioux tribe. I personally had never seen him in another movie, but his list of roles is substantial and growing. On a very interesting side note, "Sam" is not his first supernatural character. Ironically, he played the lead role in an off-broadway show of Dracula. He was discovered while acting on stage in New York City, and from there has done several feature films. He will soon start working on a couple of new projects, Shouting Secrets and Winter in the Blood.
35-year-old Chaske is very involved with United Global Shift, which is a very innovative organization whose mission is to cause "a united global shift in what is possible for humanity, focusing on the environment, employment, entrepreneurship, health and education. A shift from survival and scarcity to possibility, partnership and peace." When he's not working or helping out UGS, Chaske has a wide variety of interests, from sky diving to Native American politics. He lives in NYC, where he shares a house with Five O'Clock Heroes bassist, Adam Morse.
Of course, his preparations for playing Sam are grueling. In addition to all the weight training, he had to eat seven protein meals a day to prepare for New Moon. Today on Facebook, Chaske posted "Dude, my trainer is hardcore...worked on my wolf pack...i mean six pack. happy friday!" More signs that Breaking Dawn is on its way!
Oh, and did I mention that Mr. Spencer is single? You can follow him on twitter as well.
I noticed last week that we were coming up on this and even told Kerry that I wanted to plan something special...but, life got in the way, so here you go...
Wow, when I started this a little over a year ago, I could never have imagined 1,000 posts! I reposted the first post on the anniversary of the blog, so in honor of the 1,000th post, I'm going to repost the first pictures. I posted these on December 13, 2008 as something nice to look at until the next post...
From that post "In some odd way he makes me think of Dierks Bentley in these pictures, pre- "Long Trip Alone" video. But hey, that's not a bad thing."
I still stand by those pics as something lovely to look at. LOL. Thanks SO much to everyone who has helped this blog along the way. Your names are all over the posts, affiliates and sidebars and of course in my twitter feeds! A huge thank you to Kerry who has added so much to the blog and to our newest members Eimear, Rashell and Sabrina and all of our wonderful guest posters that are helping out with the discussion. You guys are great! Here's to another 1,000 posts!
Entertainment weekly is reporting that Taylor Lautner has a new love interest for his movie 'Abduction'. Lily Collins, daughter of Phil Collins and who played Sandra Bullock's daughter in 'Blind Side' will star as Taylor's girlfriend in the John Singleton directed movie.

There has been more information made available on the 'reshoots' rumor started by the Lainey Gossip article and the subsequent Summit statement via Gossip Cop yesterday, read our article on it HERE.
Gregory Elwood from Hit Fix is reporting that HitFix has learned that Slade, who is currently overseeing the film's score in London, would be headed to Vancouver himself to film what are obs-tentatively pick up shots, not reshot scenes. Additionally, a Summit spokesperson told HitFix that the shoot has been planned for months, the picture is not in "trouble" and, in fact, the studio thinks it may be the best of the three so far.
This week's guest poster is none other than the wonderfully hilarious TheShagDaddy, also known as the husband of Rob My World's Amber.
I’m not going to lie; doing a blog over a single chapter is way harder than over the entire book. It also doesn’t help that I have literally waited until the last moment to do this. Why do I have to be such a guy sometimes and procrastinate so badly? I am now at zero hour and here is what you have been waiting for…
At this point we know the wolves want to help the Cullens against the newborns and Victoria. And when I say help the Cullens, obviously I mean Bella. Bella, of course, hates the idea that she has now put more people she loves in danger. As usual though, she fails to see that the people she loves also love her back and are willing to die for her. Edward has taken Bella home to sleep and per Bella she does not want to sleep so she and Edward let some time pass to ensure Charlie is out for the night.
Finally, it’s time to meet up with the rest of the Edward’s family and the wolves. Edward asks Bella one final time, knowing full well what the answer will be, if she wants to stay and get some sleep. Edward carries Bella to the meeting place, running like the way he used to when it was just the two of them. They get to the meeting place and Bella realizes it is the same place as where they placed baseball one year earlier. Being back at the clearing Bella starts to think about James, Laurent and Victoria and in doing so gives her a new look about who was in her bedroom. Bella suggests to Edward that while it may not have been Victoria herself in Bella’s room it very well could have been a new friend. Edward points out that it would have to be one of the older newborns as a fresh-made newborn would not have left Charlie alive. Edward tells her that she is very perceptive today and I found that to be rather insulting but Bella didn’t seem to care.
As the two of them come closer to the family, Bella notice Alice is a bit tense. Edward informs Bella that Alice feels “blind” because the wolves mess up her psychic abilities. Fortunately, Edward still can read the wolves' mind and can tell when they are coming which is right now. The wolves don’t trust the Cullens in the human form and show up transformed. Because of this Edward acts as the go between relaying messages to his family. Also, when the wolves show up they now have 10 instead of 6 in their pack.
Jasper is now ready to lead his demonstration of how to fight the newborns. The wolves do not wish to participate and would like to just watch for tonight. Jasper is uncomfortable with the wolves and directs all of his instructions (hey, that’s the name of this chapter!) towards his family. First, he has Emmett try and attack him explaining the newborns would be like Emmett trying to use brute strength. Jasper easily catches Emmett from behind which does not make Emmett happy. Next, Jasper wants Bella to really pay attention to his fight with Alice. Alice is able to beat Jasper by reading his moves and simply moving to avoid them. Finally, Edward gets his chance with Jasper. Jasper has a lot of experience with fighting but Edward has his mind reading ability and so after several moments they decide to call it a draw.
The rest of the family get their chance to train with Jasper, but eventually Bella’s exhaustion starts to get the best of her. Everyone agrees to meet again the following night to do more training. Before they part, the wolves have asked if it would be okay to get familiar with everyone’s scents so there will be no confusion during the fight. Of course they agree to it and as the wolves go from Cullen to Cullen, Bella recognizes Jacob. She pets his hair and gives a tummy rub and possibly a milk bone and in return Jacob licks her face. I was sure Edward was going to neuter Jacob, but alas he did not. The wolves finish up and start to leave when Jacob start mind-talking with Edward. Jacob doesn’t like Edward’s answers so he goes to the woods and comes back out in human form to talk. Jacob’s concern is what to do with Bella during the fight. The main problem is Bella’s scent and the fact it is everywhere. I mean this girl gets around ifyouknowwhatimsaying. Then it hits Jacob that the wolves smell terrible to the vampires and comes up with idea to carry Bella to a safe place and his scent would mask hers.
So now it’s decided to create a fake trail with Bella before Jacob takes her to a safe place in the wilderness. New concern is there would be no one to watch her, but wait, Seth wants to do more than sit at La Push and he would have the wolf pack mind reading power to be able to alert them to any danger. Problem solved and I’m sure nothing will happen while Bella is tucked away in her tent.
I just want to end this by saying I am still disappointed that Rachelle did not get to finish her part out. I already had thoughts of how hot she would be fighting the Eclipse movie. However, the bonus now is that we get to see Bryce die.
Rumors surfaced this morning on gossip blogger Lainey Gossip's website that 'Eclipse' is unfinished. According to her sources key scenes need to be re-shot (including the meadow and fight scenes) and the crew would be heading back to Vancouver for the shoots in the next few weeks. Most surprisingly of all, according to her contacts, David Slade would not be the director for the reshoots and that he had a 'not great' relationship with Summit.
Her site does contain some strong language so fair warning, you can read the rest of her article HERE
Obviously this news sent the fandom into a frenzy and Summit was contacted and asked for a statement. They revealed their statement via spokesperson to Gossip Cop:
“The reshoot was planned for months, like it is with the majority of films.” Contrary to today’s inaccurate speculation, “creative differences” have not led Summit to consider bringing in another director for the reshoots. David Slade is 100% directing them, like he did the entire movie, and the studio is “very happy” with his direction of the film. It’s a two-and-a-half to three-day shoot, and that “very little” actually has to be reshot. “None of the meadow or action scenes are being reshot.” “Reports much like the one earlier today are ploys to drive traffic without any merit and without any support from the studio on what is actually going on or true.”
As the Twilight Lexicon rightly pointed out:
"For those of you that know Twilight shooting history, you know that this is not the first time in the Twilight Saga franchise that reshoots have taken place. Catherine Hardwicke had to reshoot several key scenes months after filming in Portland had wrapped. Specifically Catherine shot the infamous meadow scene on a golf course in the LA area"
It seems like these are all rumors for now and Summit have denied any issues so what do YOU think? Are you worried about Eclipse? Are you excited to see it or nervous about how it will compare to the book? Let us know!
Reelz channel is reporting on the online petition circulating online for an 'R' rated 'Breaking Dawn'. This comes hot on the heels of Melissa Rosenberg's note that the movie will be PG 13 (as have all the movies been) and that:
"My feeling is - more or less blood, or more or less graphic violence, sex or childbirthing gore doesn't define Breaking Dawn. It's the characters, their journey, their relationships. The other stuff won't change that. So regardless of the rating, the story, essentially, is the story. I won't be able to satisfy ALL fans, but hopefully more fans than less."
The 'Twilight' saga books are No. 5 on the annual list of books drawing the most complaints from parents and educators according to an article today in 'USA Today'.
A 'challenge' is defined by the American Library Association as a "formal, written complaint filed with a library or school requesting that materials be removed because of content or appropriateness."
The series has been criticized for sexual content "Vampire novels have been a target for years and the Twilight books are so immensely popular that a lot of the concerns people have had about vampires are focused on her books," says Barbara Jones, director of the association's Office for Intellectual Freedom.
In the past, Christian groups have also singled out the Harry Potter series for its themes of wizardry.
It looks like Ashley Greene will be in good company in her role in the Jennifer Garner produced 'Butter'. 'News in Film' is reporting that Hugh Jackman, Alicia Silverstone and Olivia Wilde have all now joined the cast as well!
The political satire is based on a top three 2008 “Black List” script by Jason A. Micallef about a Midwestern woman (played by Jennifer Garner) with a talent for butter carving hoping to become the new state fair winner. The concept is considered an analogy for the 2008 Iowa Democratic caucuses.
Nikki Reed has confirmed that she is no longer attached to the Jules Mann Stewart directed K11 also slated to star Kristen Stewart.
The movie is set in the wing of a LA prison and follows the inmates that live in there. Jule's Mann Stewart is Kristen's mom and they had hoped that the movie would have been in production in the early part of 2010. Kristen had previously talked about how difficult it is to get movies made in the present economy and said on the movie;
'The project is so bizarre and interesting that Stewart says, "If she called me right now and said, 'We're making the movie,' I would be really excited."
The DVD cover has been released for Remember Me and it is absolutely gorgeous. I thought the picture was breathtaking in black and white, but it's even more beautiful in color. It's available for pre-order from Amazon on DVD and Blu-ray
I will be very happy to add this one to my collection when it comes out on June 22. Remember, the dvd sales are going to be very important for this movie and I think this is one everyone should own.
Box Office Mojo is reporting that 'Remember Me's' box office total for the weekend was $163,774. This expands the movies domestic take to $18,696,703. Internationally it pulled in $10,801,875 bringing it to an overall total of $29,498,578. 'Remember Me' had a $16m production budget.
'The Runaways' expanded to 204 theaters this weekend and took in $469,260 bringing it to $2,517,227. You can read my review HERE. Hopefully the movie will be expanded to more theaters so even more people can enjoy this great movie! 'The Runaways' had a $10m production budget
I was lucky enough to see 'The Runaways' twice this weekend. Amber suggested I blog all about my 'The Runaways' viewing experience, especially because so many of you guys were unable to see it due to the limited release. I am nervous about putting my opinion out there but here we go,please be gentle with me, there are some small spoilers so....
