Eclipse Quote of the Day #85

"The stories say that the Cold Woman was the most beautiful thing human eyes had ever seen. She looked like the goddess of the dawn when she entered the village that morning; the sun was shining for once, and it glittered off her white skin and lit the golden hair that flowed down to her knees. Her face was magical in its beauty, her eyes black in her white face. Some fell to their knees to worship her." — Billy

Bill Condon for Breaking Dawn?

Deadline Hollywood is today reporting that Summit are in final negotiations to have 'Dreamgirls' director Bill Condon helm the final book in the Twilight Saga 'Breaking Dawn'.  According to Deadline;

"Bill Condon has emerged as the number one choice to direct the final two installments of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, I’m told. Summit Entertainment hasn’t signed him, but I’m told that after several strong meetings, they are negotiating. Condon was among a list of A-list directors approved by Summit and Twilight author Stephenie Meyer.”

Read the whole DEADLINE article HERE

Aint it Cool is also backing this set up saying 'it sounds like he could give this franchise the gloriously campy sendoff it richly deserves.' and questioning if Condon would have input on Melissa Rosenberg's screenplay.  You can read the Aint it Cool article HERE.

All speculation for now with NOTHING confirmed but as the Twilight Lexicon notes Deadline broke the news originally about Summit speaking to Gus Van Sant and Sofia Coppola.

Rob in chocolate??

A life size bust of Robert Pattinson has been created out of chocolate. Following hot on the heels of his wax incarnation Rob now has a chocolate version as well!  Chocolate artist Prudence Staite created the model in two weeks when Rob was voted the 'Tastiest star' by the UK's Lovefilm.com.  I am not sure how well it resembles Rob ( I will leave that up to you to judge!)

What do you think, do you think it resembles Rob? Would you be able to eat a chocolate Rob Pattinson??

"I didn't get a chance to introduce myself..."

Hi, my name is RaShell, aka Doodlage and TwiMom, and I'm a Twiaddict (aren't we all?).
Funny, how these 4 thick black books have the power over so many usually "normal" people to enthrall, to entertain, to divide and to conquer? Do you even remember "the life before Twilight"? I wasn't kidding about the addict part, btw. My highly addictive personality requires a regular dose of whatever I'm currently attached to. So far, I'm on the longest streak, and the name for it is Twilight.
From rushing through all four books, to re-reading them (a few times) shortly after, watching the movies, reading the blogs (this one included) and finally catching the fanfic bug, more than a year later, my Twi-OCD is still a big part of my life. I did find a creative outlet for my vamp-fascination on Etsy and that helps a lot.

So, what else do you need to know about me? Let's see... I'm about 2 times older than Bella, a graphic designer by day, artist by night and wife+mom+daughter 24/7. I'm good at putting together long bulleted lists of things I like. I'm a harsh critic but also a fierce defender of the things I care about. I draw, scan and color. I have a dry (and some say - witty) sense of humor and low tolerance for lack of basic spelling skills. At the same time, English is not my first language (more like 3rd or 4th, actually) so you'll have to suffer my horrible punctuation and strange linguistic twists. I solemnly swear to restrain myself from overusing smiley faces and Ellipsis to express my emotions. ;) starting... NOW!

That said, it is my absolute pleasure and honor to be a guest-blogger, here on the Eyes of Amber. I will try to post every Saturday and hope that we'll have some fun together!

Furry Friday: Alex Meraz on Breaking Dawn

With Eclipse right around the corner, Breaking Dawn seems to also be a hot topic for twilight fans everywhere. Speculation about how Summit will handle the final installment of the Twilight Saga seems to be creating more than a little conversation. Today, about.com caught Alex Meraz on the red carpet for Clash of the Titans. When asked about Breaking Dawn, Alex said, "It’s one book, but they’re broken up into two sections, right? So there’s so much, I think having it in one film wouldn’t do it justice. I think two movies would be the best. Hopefully they do that. It’d be better. And why not let it live on longer, you know?”

So, I could stand to watch the wolf boys for a few more hours. What about you?

Eclipse Discussion - Chapter 16. Epoch

A note from Kerry:  The rest of the Eclipse Discussions will be contributed by a series of guest posters, with one or two special appearances from Amber. Thank you everyone who has taken over this project for me! Chapter 16 is brought to us by our good friend Heather. Take it away, Heather!

Chapter 16 – Epoch

I want to thank Amber for asking me to contribute to the awesome Eclipse discussion that you all have been having.  I hope that I do an okay job!  Without further ado, let’s get into this puppy.
Chapter 16 finds Bella obsessing over what to wear to her high school graduation…doesn’t sound very Bella-like does it?  Of course she would have worn her red blouse, but it had been kidnapped.  And as usual Alice is the fashion maven to the rescue.  Bella and Alice chat about how awful it must be for Alice to feel *gasp* normal because of the holes in her “sight.”  Let’s say it all together people, “Poor Alice!”  But when Alice puts her stress over not being able to see the thieving vampire and the situation in Seattle together in one sentence, something clicks in Bella’s head…it’s all related.  The person who is forming the newborn vampire army in Seattle is the same person who took Bella’s scent…so that others could find her.  The obvious reaction at the realization is fear, right?  Well, this is Bella we are speaking about; instead she feels relief.  No one is coming to exterminate the Cullens…just her.  As a side note, someone needs to remind Bella to be scared for her own life, she is mortal after all.

Bella dresses in her new Alice-approved outfit and meets Charlie and Edward downstairs to ride to the graduation.  Edward can tell that something is bothering Bella, but all she admits to is being nervous.  Charlie also picks up on her mood, but figures that her graduation party is just the thing to perk her up.  Edward and Bella take their places in line for graduation, and now Jessica is her best friend again…don’t you just love Jessica?  She waxes poetic about their fairytale friendship that has spanned the recesses of time…all of two years, heh.  The rest of the ceremony is a blur, like everything is in fast-forward.  Bella vaguely remembers hearing cheering from Charlie and Jacob when her name is called.

Searching the crowd for her friends, Edward walks up and grabs Bella from behind and whispers his congratulations.  Um, this is way sexier in my head I think than it is on paper.  Anyway, Bella admits to know what Alice is hiding from Edward and then decides to tell him what she has figured out about the connection between the thief and the army in Seattle.  Obviously this realization doesn’t make Edward too pleased and he bites Charlie’s head off when he asks to join them for dinner…very unEdward-like.

Bella and Charlie suffer through/enjoy an elongated celebratory dinner at The Lodge before the graduation party.  While Charlie is paying the bill, Bella waits outside at the cruiser and Edward  appears.  He’s been watching her the entire time and kisses her…*sigh*…he vows to follow them to his house.  Creeper much?

My favorite part of this chapter is the conversation between Charlie and Bella about her coming to live with him…and how he should have taught her how to throw a proper punch.  He tells her to punch Jacob in the gut next time.  Next time?
“Yeah.  The right thing isn’t always real obvious.  Sometimes the right thing for one person is the wrong thing for someone else.  So…good luck figuring that out.”
I think that this quote fits so many situations in this story, not just the Bella+Jacob+Edward love triangle.  Charlie is just so wise.  And of course upon pulling up to the Cullen home they are greeted by 3 miles of beautiful twinkling lights.  Oh that Alice!

This chapter was important because it finally brings together the idea that the person who snuck into Bella’s room was the same person creating the newborn vampire army in Seattle.  The rest was kind of filler to get us to the party.  The graduation is not memorable in Bella’s mind, probably because she is viewing it as an ending to so many things.  The title of this chapter kind of stumped me.  When you think of an epoch you think of a moment in time that symbolizes the origin of an era of time.  Perhaps the graduation really isn’t an ending as Bella sees it.  Maybe it is the beginning of something that will go on for an eternity…oh Stephenie you are so sneaky!  What are your thoughts?
