'Eclipse' on course for monster weekend Box Office

According to Gossip Cop 'Eclipse' has taken in $261m so far worldwide, breaking the quarter of a billion barrier in it's first five days of release!

"The latest numbers are in, and Eclipse will rake in an estimated $89 million for the holiday weekend.
So far the film has made $161 million in North America and is expected to earn $181 million by the end of the holiday weekend.
Internationally, since opening in June 30, Eclipse has grossed an estimated $100.2 million from 42 territories."

Metro.co.uk says that "The distributor also published a prediction which suggested the film would enjoy total ticket sales worth almost $200 million in its opening six days.
Should that prove to be the case, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse would beat the opening-week box office figures of its two predecessors.
It would also make it third in the all-time opening six-day figures chart, behind The Dark Knight and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."

Note that the distributor predictions are always a little lower than actuals and the movie does not open in the UK for another five days (July 9th).

Congratulations to all the people who made 'Eclipse' such a success, have you seen the movie? What did you think? Check out Amber and Rashell's 'Eclipse' reviews as well!
