Atlanta Convention Rundown & Giveaway Details...

As most of you know, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend one of Creation Entertainment’s Official Twilight Tours earlier this month in Atlanta. This was my first convention and an absolutely wonderful experience. There was way too much going on over the course of the weekend to put it all into one post, but I wanted to give you a general overview of what it was like.

Heather and I arrived and got checked into the hotel just before registration opened. By the time we made it down we had unfortunately missed the opening by The Hillywood Show, but we made it in time for the Twilight Lexicon panel "The Real Forks." This was such a fun and informative look at Forks and Lori Joffs is wonderful!

Next up was the Yes/No trivia. If you were following Heather’s tweets, you know that I did not do well here. I got out on the second question. Everyone that I have talked to since has also gotten the question wrong so I don’t feel too bad. I’m not telling you what it was now, I’m keeping it in my pocket for something else coming up. The winners received a $250 gift certificate, a professional makeover and a spot in the vampire court at the Volturi Ball.

One of the treats of being at these conventions is getting to see clips of interviews with cast that aren’t there. The questions for these interviews actually come from audiences so they aren’t necessarily the same ones that you hear every reporter ask. We got to watch a clip that featured Rob, Kristen, Dakota, the Cullens, the Volturi and the wolf pack!

The highlight of the day was definitely Peter Facinelli’s Q&A. I’ve already written one post about it with more to come. We went form there to our photo ops with Peter then back for autographs. Meeting Peter was definitely a great experience. He hosted a Karaoke concert that night with Michael Welch, but I hadn’t slept since Wednesday night so we had dinner and called it a night. Sounds like it was a lot of fun though!

Saturday opened with The Hillywood Show’s New Moon parody which Heather had never seen. It was really cool to see it on the big screen. If you haven’t seen it, go watch it right now. That’s definitely something else I came away from this weekend with…a new appreciation of The Hillywood show and an unexpected crush on Drew Lorentz. (Yes, I love Jasper, so it really shouldn’t be all that surprising.)

Next up was another Twilight Lexicon panel. This one was Tales From the Red Carpet and was hosted by Jen. Jen has been on the red carpet at Twilight and Remember Me so she had some wonderful stories and experiences to share.

Then we jumped right in to the celebrity Q&A’s. First up for the day was Daniel Cudmore (Felix). I’m looking very forward to bringing you some details from this one. Daniel is hilarious and amazing and so entertaining. We had photo ops with him as well so we missed most of the Twilight Moms Panel that followed.

Next up was wolf pack favorite Gil Birmingham (Billy Black). He was certainly popular with the crowd.

Following him was another Volturi member Christopher Heyerdahl (Marcus). He was another huge surprise for me.

We took a break for lunch and came back for the last Q&A of the day, Michael Welch (Mike Newton). The Hillywood show followed with their Twilight Parody. We wrapped the day up with autographs and then headed off for dinner. Of course, the Volturi Vampire Ball was held that night.

Because of an early flight back on Sunday, we were unable to attend any of the events that day. So we missed Q&A’s with Kiowa Gordon (Embry Call), Tinsel Korey (Emily), and Gil Birmingham. We also missed panels with Twilight Lexicon and The Official Twilight Facebook page. There were more New Moon interviews, auctions and a costume competition as well. I’m hoping for a more cooperative airline schedule the next time I go.

If you ever have a chance to attend one of  Creation Entertainment’s Twilight conventions, you should definitely go. Speaking of that…we are offering two lucky readers just that…
