Here's a pic of the line last night, courtesy of CBA:
I am very excited to hear their report from the red carpet. Some of my buddies from Letters To Twilight will also be there on Monday. Good luck and have fun ladies!!
Thanks to TwilightMoms.
Suck it in and tell the truth! Rawr!
I arrived about 3 hours before the event started, and was still probably 150th or so in line. Prior to lining up though, I had popped into the Borders at the mall to look for the Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar and Maxim. I did find them, they were difficult to miss, not just for the gorgeous covers, but the four amazing women in New Moon T-shirts ooohing and ahhing. We all had a good laugh at being caught in a super fangirl moment, but you gotta admit, the Vanity Fair is amazing. These ladies were awesome, and like all us Twilight fans, instantly bonded and they graciously included me in their little group, as well as a couple other young ladies in line behind us.
Even the line was fun, everyone talking about the books and the movies, friendly banter between Team Edward and Team Jacob and having a great time with the Hot Topic employees and the mall security.
We finally got to file through, very quickly, the store, for our autograph signing with Daniel and Charlie. And oh are they adorable! Charlie was rambling random things in that gorgeous accent of his, and the best part was when one of my new Twi-BFFs said to Daniel "You slammed Edward in to the ground" and he said "Yes, he was a baaaaad boy, he broke the rules!". Unfortunately, that was all the time we had, as Hot Topic was all over the crowd control.
From there, we went to the event area, which was already packed, but managed to get a decent spot about halfway back from the stage. One of the local radio station morning show hosts was sort of hosting the event and did a great job. (Shout out to Jackie!) She said she hadn't been into Twilight yet, but I think getting to hang with Daniel and Charlie might have changed her mind! You can listen to the radio interview here.
Anya Marina, performer of "Satellite Heart" on the soundtrack, performed a few songs next. She was very sweet, and amazingly talented. She really had grasped the heart and soul of the story. She was also gracious enough to sign some autographs and take some pictures with a few of the fans.
Finally, Daniel and Charlie arrived for the Q & A session. Still adorable. Daniel is so tall, and very funny. We all agreed that Charlie should just read the newspaper to us, so we could listen to him talk. Highlights of the Q & A were Daniel saying that New Moon was one of the few movies he hasn't had to get super in shape for, since he's dressed in bulky clothes the whole time, as opposed to "usually being in his underwear" for movies. Which of course generated a lot of interest in his other movies. Charlie commented that the costumes and the contact lenses made it amazingly easy to get into character, that he really felt different and could get into the mindset of the vampire in them.
They even gave a wave and a shout out to Michelle, one of my new Twi-BFFs, who had flown in from Virginia to visit with her friends and to attend the event. She swooned. Really. But then, wouldn't you?
It was over much too quickly, but so great to see. After the event we went back up to the store where I acquired some Twi-paraphernalia. Like a keychain, and a Team Edward/Team Jacob reversible bag, and maybe an Edward pillow case.
So that's my long-winded summary, I will have some more later when the Twi-BFFs send me their much higher quality pics.

New Moon opens at midnight one week from tonight, but the film has already outsold its predecessor, Twilight, in total advance ticket sales on Fandango, the nation's leading movie ticketing destination. The new movie currently represents 75% of the site's ticket sales. If you don't have your tickets yet, what are you waiting for??? I have in my possession my tickets for Twilight at 9pm, midnight show of New Moon, Friday 4:40pm show and Saturday 4:40pm show. That's right...I'm seeing it three times in three days. Click below to get your tickets. Hurry before they're all sold out!
Although thousands of next Thursday night's midnight showtimes are sold-out across the country (from Anchorage, Alaska to Winter Park, Florida), tickets are still available, while new showtimes are added regularly to keep up with the demand.
"Ever since we started selling advance tickets to New Moon on August 31, the demand has been unstoppable, as the fan base just keeps growing every day," says Fandango Chief Operating Officer Rick Butler. "New Moon is tracking to be Fandango's #1 top advance ticket-seller of all time."
Currently, New Moon ranks as the #4 top advance ticket-seller in Fandango history, toppling Twilight which previously held the spot.
The Top 5 Advance Ticket-Sellers on Fandango (as of November 12, 2009) are as follows:
1.Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
2.Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
3.The Dark Knight (2008)
4.New Moon (2009)
According to a recent Fandango survey of more than 2,000 New Moon ticket-buyers, the first Twilight movie helped fuel the fan frenzy that has carried over to the other installments in the series:
•55% said the first Twilight movie inspired them to read all the books by Stephenie Meyer.
•51% plan to see New Moon more than once in the theater.
•61% said they have read the novel New Moon more than once.
Isn't she just lovely??? Thanks to TwiCrack Addict for the tip!
In attendance will be Daniel Cudmore (Felix) and Charlie Bewley (Demetri). I always loved these characters in the books, even if we don't see much of them, so I'm excited to meet the men who will bring them to life. This is also the first Twilight fan event I've ever been to, so it's my own little right-of-passage.
I'm not so technologically advanced to be able to live tweet directly, but I will be texting Amber throughout the afternoon and evening with updates, so stay tuned for information as I can send it. I'll have a full report for you tomorrow, as well.
Get on it and enter to win! Link us to your pics, too! We'd love to see them!

On a more serious note, it is Veteran's Day in the United States today. Allow me to express my appreciation for all the men and women who have or are serving our country. Thank you all for stepping up.
There's so much in the News We Missed department. I'm still not going to get it all in here. But here are a few tidbits that caught my eye this week.
How Gorgeous Does Kristen Look in Paris!
Rob, Kristen and Taylor were in Paris to promote New Moon. They all look amazing, of course, but I LOVE Kristen's dress!! They are at the London Event as we speak, so I'll have pics from that as soon as I can. As for other pics that surfaced from Paris, we're pulling a Taylor Swift, and not talking about that in our blog.
Kristen Walks to Cure Diabetes
I love seeing our Twi-Cast giving back, you know this. Diabetes is a difficult condition, and thanks to all the research, HUGE strides have been made in the treatment and managing of it. Thank you to everyone that was involved, and thanks to Kristen for bringing attention to it.
More on Kristen's walk and information about how YOU can participate here.
Turns Out, Rob Hit the Cab
We all know how much the media blows things out proportion. Remember that horrible event in New York last summer, when the mob of screaming fans chased Rob into the busy streets of Manhattan and hit got hit by a taxicab? Right..
Chris Weitz gave Collider.com a few details about what we can expect on the New Moon DVD. Click the link for the full interview, but here is the main statement:
Collider: What can we expect on the New Moon DVD?
Chris Weitz: On the DVD there will be some deleted scenes, there will be a commentary with me and I think Kristen, Rob and Taylor at the same time, and some making of and behind the scenes type stuff.
Taylor, You Scared Us For a Minute!
There was a rumor flying around recently that Taylor Lautner was all grumbly about only being seen as a beefcake and he was never taking his shirt off for a movie again. First of all, we all know how proud he is of all those muscles (30 pounds!), as he should be. And for all the beefcakeyness, I think he's going to blow us all away as Jacob in New Moon. He does clear up the rumor via an interview with Popeater though:
As to the rumor that the stud will not be showing his famous pecs again onscreen -- breath a sigh of relief ladies since it's not true "I believe I was quoted as saying, 'I will never take my shirt off for a movie ever again.' " Lautner says. "I didn't say that. If I have to, if the character requires it. I will." Amen to that.
Ashley's Dog is Famous, and My Husband is Giddy
Ashley Greene will be gracing the cover of Maxim again, looking all beautiful and smexy, of course. She comments on her new fame in the article:
"It's crazy, right?" she tells the December issue of Maxim, out Nov. 17. "I think my dog is more famous than a lot of stars out there. I bet some people in Hollywood are like, 'I can't get my picture in a mag, but Ashley's pooch [Marlo] does?' It's mind-boggling."
Last Minute "See New Moon Early" Contest
Taylor and His Muscles in Men's Health
Speaking of magazine covers, you can find Taylor on the cover of the new Men's Health magazine. Taylor's personal trainer also gives details on his workout regimen and how to build that six-pack.
Have a great rest of the week!

This post will contain book spoilers from the entire series, as well as Midnight Sun.
Alice is probably my favorite supporting character in the series. Her acceptance of Bella, the bright and bubbly attitude, her humor, and the talent of predicting the future is pretty awesome, too.
Having a character that can predict the future in your story presents a problem for the author. You still want to be able to surprise your readers, so an omniscient character can be troublesome if they spill the resolution in chapter three.
We know Alice's abilities aren't completely infallible. She can't see a future involving the wolves at all, Renesmee gives her some issues. In Midnight Sun, she snaps at Edward for having her keep track of too many things. So, apparently, even with the super vamp brain, it's possible to miss things. And then, of course, the basic limitation. It's based on decisions. If a decision hasn't been made, she can't see the outcome.
What does the ability do to you, though? I've always found myself wondering this since I read the books. Alice lives in a whole separate world. She lives in the future, even if it's only a few minutes. Her reactions are different, because she already accepts the outcome of the decision, no matter what it is. She accepts Bella as her best friend immediately, because she's already seen it.
I wonder if there's a peace in that, not worrying over the outcome. Or seeing what you can do to change it, if need be. Like Edward's plans for self-destruction, knowing what he had planned helped her and Bella plan to interfere.
It must be nerve-wracking too, to not be able to see. To have to wait on the decisions. Especially a situation where there are a million small decisions that have to be made before the final outcome is visible to her. Will Aro kill Bella? Will he keep her and force her change himself? Will Caius step in? Will Demetri and Felix ambush them outside the gates?
I've always wondered why Alice made the promise to Aro that Bella would be changed. In truth, she probably didn't so much promise, as show him the visions she'd had of Bella as a vampire, living happily ever after with the Cullens. I think it was an opportunity for her to actually take charge of the future, rather than just watch it happen. It would allow for them to escape Volterra, at least buy them some time. And maybe, just maybe, force her brother to do what it is he really wants to do, and won't admit. Alice is like that.
In Breaking Dawn, Alice reaches almost a crisis with her ability. The involvement of the wolves, and Renesmee's presence made it impossible for her to see. As someone who has never known life to be any other way, that had to be extremely unnerving. Like suddenly going blind or deaf. She seized a vision that made it through and acted on it. How scary still, going in search of something she couldn't see, but she took the weakness in her ability and learned to work with it.
So, is it a blessing? A curse? Both? Probably both. Just like any other sense it has it's ups and downs. Perfect pitch is great for singing, but you hear every wrong note ever made, and there are way more wrong notes than right ones. Strong sense of smell? Could be good, except some things just shouldn't be smelled.
What do you think of Alice's visions? Would you like to know the future? Or do you prefer to take life as it happens. Let me know in the comments.
The Twilight Examiner published this interview where Kristen discusses the emotional roller coaster of the story, and the challenges of performing Bella experiencing that.
Q: Obviously New Moon is a really emotional journey for Bella. How did you prepare yourself for shooting the scenes in which she was really depressed and distraught?
Kristen: Right. I wish that there was a more solid way, prep for an actor, I mean just in terms of being sure that you’re ready to do what everybody expects you to do, but there’s just not. I was so completely intimidated by that scene. I mean in the book there’s nothing there’s literally nothing like it that I can think of in the real world that I could relate to. You know what I mean? Like I’ve been broken up with, I’ve had my heart broken whatever, like I think. But it was still higher than that. Like “oh, oh you think you know what it feels like to hurt? Have you ever died? You don’t know what you’re talking about.” You know what I mean? Yeah, so it was about being really comfortable with Chris and knowing I could say anything to him, ever. Chris is great and he is the most, like, I just feel very comfortable around him and he made us feel really safe and considering those parts of the book I actually don’t have any of the other actors to play off of so I was very much alone and terrified, absolutely intimidated by the material and he made it so much easier.
Read the rest here.
The down side to Peter's interviews, is picking just a question or two to quote here for you.
Melissa Fleming, at Time Out New York, had the chance to interview Peter about New Moon, and his on-screen and off-screen families.
Was it challenging to play dad to a brood of actors so close to your own age? When I first got cast I thought, I’m only about ten years older than these kids; how am I supposed to play their father? But I was more conscious of that on the first movie. Carlisle’s speech pattern and movements aren’t very contemporary, so it gives him more of a patriarchal feel.

The two NECCO Twilight Sweetheart and New Moon candy goody bags are
The winner of the Cafepress t-shirt giveaway is James who will be receiving this shirt
I love it. I hadn't seen this one before. If you didn't win, don't despair. We'll be announcing another giveaway tomorrow!
I, Kerry, sidekick to Eyes of Amber, hereby petition The Twilight Fandom for the adoption of a new, honorary member of the Twi-Verse, one Miss Taylor Swift.
I believe Miss Swift to be a good fit within the Twilight family, as she possesses many of the qualities we find so endearing to our fictional friends and the actors who represent them. She is beautiful, talented, funny, dorky, and a good sport about all things media.
I offer to Miss Swift, unbound devotion to her work. I might not be the biggest fan of her music, but I'm rapidly becoming a big fan of her attitude. I also offer good humored posts, gushing amazement at photo shoots, and a plethora of "Awwww."s and other endearing sounds whenever I see her and Taylor Lautner in public together.
In return, I hope Miss Swift brings us more graceful under pressure moments, like the VMAs, maybe a song for Eclipse, and please please please, more funniness like last night's Saturday Night Live performance. The Monologue Song, had me laughing from the start, the Twilight spoof was hilarious without being insulting, and my life just might be complete now that I've seen her act '"gangsta".
Henceforth, I accept Miss Taylor Swift into my care, treating her as if she were one of my very own Twilight stars, with all the rights and responsibilities that go with it.
*And I, Amber, second this motion. I am a huge fan of her music and always have been. She writes or co-writes everything she records. And who doesn't love a woman who doesn't go after you for revenge when you wrong her, she just writes a song about you!
Here are two great moments at SNL. Watch for the Taylor Lautner shout-out!
I always love hearing from Stephenie. It's great to see her involved and embracing the cast and crew. And Michael's voice! Watch out Chaske, you're not the only Voice on set.
Here is a behind-the-scenes reel, there are major spoilers present, so definitely avoid if you're trying to stay away from sneaky peeks. This is definitely DVD extra fodder though, so I'm sure you'll see it then.
Thanks to Robsessed and TwilightMoms.
Interviews are still my favorite part, especially ones with multiple cast members. I love watching/listening to them interact. I think you can really tell that they do all get along as well as they always say they do.
You can listen to this 25 minute interview here, at Hollywood Outbreak. Find out who's the most maternal, how they maintain as much privacy as they can, and what question they hate being asked the most. There are lots of laughs, definitely worth the time to listen.
Thanks to Cullen Boys Anonymous
Here's Rob on E!
Things I noticed:
1. Rob still has all his nervous gestures. The hand in the hair (gulp). The constant drinking from the water/soda bottle, the mumbling.
2. He's still adorkable. The laugh, the quips about pushing the spotlight on Taylor, then wondering if he should take his clothes off to get it back. (Rob...you haven't lost the spot light, but if you want to talk nekkid...I'm sure we can manage to pay attention to that)
3. He's more comfortable in interviews. While he's still definitely Rob, and thank goodness for that, he's lost that "OMG what am I doing here!" look. As cute as that was, I'm proud of our man for how much he's learned and grown over the last year.
Rob on Access Hollywood
1. I saw the Robward blanket (it's actually a duvet cover) at Hot Topic today. I might have considered buying it for 2.6 seconds.
2. I love the interviewers getting clever about asking about Robsten, without actually asking about Robsten. Our Rob is too smart to fall for that!
3. More than his looks, the reason Rob is the only Edward? He gets it. that's all.
On to Kristen!
1. Kristen! Talk about some change in the last year. Still Kristen, still no-nonsense, and struggling to convey what she means, but more confident.
2. Ok. Who would make the better husband??? Really, Shaun?? Congratulations to Kristen for handling that one with out even laughing in her face.
3. I love how she handles the question about the Harper's Bazaar shoot. And all the rumors, "yep, that does encourage the thought..oh well"..
4. We like the shirtless guys, too.
Thanks to Robsessed for the videos.
