10 Seconds of Spoilers -- Extra 'Celebrate'

This was fun for me, because the still for this scene that was already released is one of my favorites.

Eclipse Title Treatment

Similar in design, but new colors, as the New Moon logo. @Twilight unveiled The Twilight Saga: Eclipse title treatment last night.

Ok, excitement for both these movies might just kill me.

Like to Play the Casting Game? Some Have Ideas for The Host

Stephenie Meyer asked the fan community for their ideas for a cast for her recently-optioned book, The Host. Amanda Bell, at the Twilight Examiner, summarized the popular choices in a great article yesterday, including some amazing fan art and video trailers.

I can't give my own opinion, really, I haven't yet read the book. There are an interesting array of suggestions, though, and it makes me curious what it is people think their choice could bring to the part. So I'll make a deal with you all. I'll go get the book and read it this weekend (give me a few extra days to finish..), and YOU leave a comment about who you'd pick for the various characters and why.

It's definitely something to help pass the next 27 days!

Thanks to OpenBookSociety, too.

Fan Made Friday: I Love Midnight Sun

Have you read Midnight Sun? I'm sure most of you have, but if you have no clue what I'm talking about, Midnight Sun is a short draft of a parallel novel to Twilight, the same story, just from Edward's point of view. Stephenie Meyer toyed with publishing it for a while, but unfortunately, some loser person decided it would be fun to leak it to the internet. Understandably, Stephenie decided not to continue the project at this point, however, she did make the leaked portion available through her website.

Midnight Sun is an amazing opportunity to look into Edward's head. Want to know what exactly he was thinking during that first Biology class? Go read. You can find it here.

But, I digress, the point is to bring you FAN mad creations. We found this series of videos over at All Kristen Stewart. They are absolutely beautiful and well done tributes to Edward's thoughts in Midnight Sun. Check them out!

Rob Makes the Hit List!

For Entertainment Weekly, that is. Probably an accurate assessment, too. Though I wouldn't blame ONLY the cheekbones. You can find this in the Oct. 23 issue. Oh, and don't thank me for the improvements to the image, it was my pleasure.

Clicky for big.

Want Edward's Car? Or a Trip to the Premiere?

Take a look at what else Amanda Bell had to say today!
"Starting today, fans can visit the website (here) and enter to win a pair of tickets to see The Twilight Saga: New Moon's premiere in Los Angeles, California on November 16th. The contest runs until November 9th, so you'll have plenty of time. Winners will be selected at random on November 10th, and announcements will be made on the same day. The prize package will include hotel, airfare, the ticket costs, and it will also come with a meet-and-greet session with some of the New Moon cast!
Starting on November 1st, fans will be able to enter a contest to win the same car that Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) drives in The Twilight Saga: New Moon (as seen in the trailer below)! More details are expected to come soon on this contest, but for now it is known that the contest will involve letting Twilight fans play puzzles and trivia for the chance to win."

Woot! Click here to get to Amanda's column and the link for the contest!

This reminds me, check out this video from the fantasically talented maker-of-awesome-fan-trailers Tiffanyd666, made back around Twilight time.

"Adapt Or Go Hang With Daisy" Is My New Catch Phrase

Last week, Kristen Stewart was on my mind. She gets a bit of the short end of the stick with this whole Twilight business. She's an accomplished, highly talented actress who is over-shadowed by her hearthrob costars, and often gets a bad rep for her awkward, shy, don't-care attitude.

I had considered writing a rant post about that, but had put it off for fear of coming off all Chris Crocker on you, and that wouldn't help my dear KStew at all. As it turns out, procrastination paid off this time, because Amanda at Twilight Examiner and Team 411 said it all, better than I ever could.
"In a highly unscientific poll of Team 411, we determined that we like Kristen for her offbeat attitude, we like that she’s not another cookie-cutter starlet. Love her or hate her, Kristen Stewart is real. This is just her. Either you’re going to adapt, or you’re going to go hang with Daisy. Kristen fans are a discerning group. We do not need our girlcrush to pander to us, we don’t need her in the press saying something pseudo-shocking or flashing her panties every day. We love Kristen because she just is"

Reelz Channel Interview with Michael Sheen

Michael speaks about Aro and New Moon. I love that he's so happy about being in something his daughter loves. The Twilight movies have managed to collect the coolest group of actors ever, I think.

Fandango "Exclusive" Footage (MAJOR SPOILERS)

So this explains the confusion with Access Hollywood. I'm guessing that since it's supposed to be an "exclusive" Fandango clip, Summit asked AH to pull the video, to allow Fandango their privileges.

You can now view the new TV Spot here!

First TV Spot for New Moon premieres tonight!

It's hard to believe, and so incredibly exciting. We're now within a month of the premiere of New Moon. I have my tickets in my purse for the midnight show. I have the soundtrack on a constant loop. We're finalizing details for a New Moon party. It's hard to believe that we're so close now. As if we needed something else to remind us just how close we are...the first television spot will air tonight.
Watch the first New Moon TV spot - debuting online exclusively at 8 pm PST on Fandango.com! Don't miss it!

Wednesday Wrap-Up

Another week, another plethora of missed news. I hope you got a chance to read through yesterday's Twi-Theories article about Bella's hallucinations. I really want to hear your feedback. This is a doozy of a wrap-up, so grab your beverage of choice, get comfy, and enjoy the pretty.

Even Timbaland wants Bella and Edward

Grammy award-winning rapper and producer Timbaland says he's a fanpire, too. He wants to do a new music video featuring Bella and Edward, and wants Kristen and Rob to help make it happen. He would set this to his single "Morning After Dark" from his upcoming album Shock Value 2. Here's the video from MTV, in all Timbaland's 'just woke up' voice.

New Moon Sneak Peek: Wolf Phasing

ITunes offered an exclusive look at the scene where Bella confronts Sam and the rest of the pack. See Bella put the smackdown on Paul, and see Paul lose it. The wolves look amazing! And it looks like they darkened up Jacob-wolf some. MUCH better, in my opinion. Take a look!

Vanity Fair Checks Out the Wolfpack

Are you jealous? Vanity Fair interviewed Alex Meraz and Kiowa Gordon recently, about their experience with New Moon.

From Alex:

What was your favorite scene to shoot?

The cliff diving scene was the most fun because the whole Wolf Pack was there and we were jumping off these 50-foot scaffolding things onto an air mattress. It was pretty exciting to be able to do our own stunts.

You didn't have stunt doubles at all?

No! They were pushing for it, we were pushing against; we wanted to do our own stuff. We had to train for a good two days, eight hours each day just practicing jumping, making sure we were landing safely. On the day [of shooting], we were actually jumping from a green screen cliff but it was actually taller and a little bit more dangerous because there was foliage and grass on top of it—it was a little slippery. We were fine, and it was really fun.

From Kiowa:

Did anyone on set take you under their wing or give you any good advice?

Just the Wolf Pack. We all helped each other along and gave each other advice.

Has anyone tried to prepare for what’s coming once the film is out?

They’re trying! They keep telling me that it’s going to be a lot crazier than what I’ve seen. They keep telling me that I can’t go outside of my house. I just think it’s nonsense.

Read the rest of the interviews from Alex and Kiowa.

And The Interview Avalanche Continues

Next up, The Hollywood Reporter talks to our new favorite director, Chris Weitz.

THR: How much do you interact with the Twi-hards?

Weitz: Quite a bit. I don't have an online, direct relation with the fans; I was too busy making the movie. But I sort of feel as though every bit of footage I get out is speaking to the fans in a way. I've only addressed the fans directly twice: At the very beginning, when I said, "Don't worry, I'm going to take care of this book," and then to address an insane rumor that all the Volturi were naked in their introductory scene. But I listened to what they have to say by checking in on the Internet. I didn't do it that much while we were shooting because I didn't want to get swayed one way or another; it would be like a politician just going by the polls. But now that the footage is complete, I kind of enjoy just checking in various sites and seeing what they like.

Give Your Lunch Some Sparkle

Be the coolest kid in the lunchroom with these New Moon lunchboxes. There's even a thermos to keep things hot or cold, whatever your preference! One has Edward on one side and Jacob on the other, with Bella on the side panels, the other has the movie poster both front and back.

Some Jackson Love

Just for those of you who can't get enough Jackson, since I know Rathbone moments are few and far between. Jackson spoke with MTV about Jasper's backstory.

"It was just really fantastic to get to delve in there and to get to don all the Civil War regalia and whatnot. That was a pleasure," he said. "I had to wear this wool suit of a major, cavalry major. "I got the big hat and everything. Hop off the horse, bow to these ladies, and then I get eaten. And then I get turned!"

Who's excited about Jackson in uniform??

Get Your DVR's Ready

This is the part I know many of us are looking forward to: The run of promotional interviews. I can't wait for blunt Kristen, lovable Taylor, and adorkable Rob to make the rounds, and I'm sure we'll see a good bit of the rest of the Wolfpack and the Cullens as well. The first that I've heard of is for Regis & Kelly. Rob, Kristen and Taylor will be making appearances on November 18, 19 and 20.

Who wants to take bets as to how many times Kelly will have her hands all over Rob?

Surf the Web with Twilight

If you use Firefox, there are Twilight themed skins available for download. I've tried a few this morning, and I'm undecided. Some of them make it very difficult to see the rest of the buttons and such, but it's still fun to have MORE Twilight all over my laptop.

Amber is Still Rocking the Vamp Writing

Don't forget to keep checking out Amber's other columns. Her series on "Real Men Read Twilight" continues on t5m. The interview with Shaun, The Military Man, will continue this week. Be sure to look for that soon!

Amber also got a helping hand from Rob and kriSten Lovers at the Scream Awards. The lucky folks were able to be on the red carpet. They weren't able to interview the cast of the Vampire Diaries for her, but they did get some great pictures and gave Amber a great account of the event. Read that here!

Twi-Theories Tuesday: Hallucinations and Choices

As with all the Twi-Theories discussions, there will be major book spoilers. If you haven't read the books, stop reading this article and go read the book. Then come back! Some movie spoiler pictures, also.

With New Moon coming (30 days!!!), I've been rereading the book and looking at some of the events. Last week we talked about Jacob in a broad sense, as he spans the series, and his purpose. This week, I was thinking about Bella's hallucinations and how they relate to Jacob.

In New Moon, Bella discovers that when she does something reckless or dangerous she could hear Edward's voice very clearly, urging her to stop what she was doing. She begins actively looking for reckless things to do in order to prompt these hallucinations. There were also times when the hallucinations would start, even when she didn't actively choose to be reckless.

I've always been intrigued by one moment of the hallucinations. After the cliff-diving incident, Bella begins considering the possibility of forging a relationship with Jacob beyond friendship. In her truck they have a moment.

"Butterflies assaulted my stomach as I thought about turning my head. And then, as clearly as if I were in immediate danger, Edward's velvet voice whispered in my ear. 'Be happy', he told me."

So what's significant about this hallucination. It stands out from the others in that there's no immediate physical danger. Even the hallucination she had earlier with Jacob, when confronting him about his involvement with Sam's "gang", there was physical danger, even if she wasn't aware of it.

The "butterflies" in her stomach indicate a level of adrenaline rush, though. Was it the possibility of danger, being involved with a werewolf, like Emily. Or that being involved with Jacob would be 'reckless'? Another possibility is emotional fear. The start of a new relationship after being hurt. The emotional pain of having to "give up" Edward. It's hard to say.

Every time before this moment, Hallucinatory Edward has cautioned her away from whatever she was doing. To stop moving towards the men in Port Angeles, to stay off the motorcycle, to stay away from the cliff edge, to give Laurent the lies to try to throw him off, to help calm Jacob down.

Is this occasion any different? On the surface, it sounds like "Edward" is telling her it's okay to be happy with Jake. But he doesn't say "Be happy with Jacob", he just says "Be happy."

We all know it's not really Edward talking to her, rather something from her subconscious. In some form or another, Bella knew that being with Jacob would be dangerous for her, whether physically or emotionally. This was the moment of choice. I'm sorry, Team Jacob, but I'm pretty sure it was set in stone in THIS moment. Not the moment in Eclipse. That may have been the emotions catching up with the decision, once she was emotionally ready to deal with it, but in this moment, in her truck, contemplating a future with Jacob and having a Cullen show up at her house, she was faced with her choice. "Be Happy".

Please comment and tell me what you think of Bella and her hallucinations and choices!
