Fan-Made Friday: Eclipse Trailers

I have said before, Eclipse is the movie I'm most worried about making the transition from book to movie. There's a lot going on, in a short period of time, and all those details are important to the story. I worry that they'll spend too much time and focus on the love triangle, making it a soap opera. Or, that they won't spend enough time on it, focus too much on the vampire army and we'll miss out on the lovely romance as Edward and Bella's relationship grows.

It seems that David Slade has things pretty well in hand though, judging from the tidbits that get tweeted in from Vancouver. Today, I'm turning my attention to what the fans think Eclipse should look like.

These are the ones that I found captured the story the best, or evoked the emotion of the story to me. There is a downside to these videos, though. Most of them were made almost a year ago, meaning there wasn't much Taylor Lautner footage to use. Sorry, Team Taylor fans, you're going to see a lot of Steven Strait as Jacob. I have scoured Youtube for new material with Taylor in it and have be unsuccessful so far.

On with the videos!

First up is by mailin90jj. I like this one because it *feels* the most like a trailer to me. The music, the pacing of the clips, I'd totally get excited to see this, even if I was unfamiliar to the series.

Next up is katie911225. I love what they have done with the newborn army.

Here's one from TiteLola. Excellent use of quotes from the book, and "Fire and Ice" by Robert Frost.

The next two are my favorites, and I never can decide which one I like the best.

Most of you are probably familiar with tiffanyd666 and her fantastic New Moon trailers. Check out her car commercials, too! Here's Tiffany's take on the Eclipse trailer.

Lastly, TheOne2Want. The video quality isn't quite as good, but the story elements are fantastic.

Which one is your favorite? Or do you have one I haven't shown here? Let me know in the comments!

New Moon News: New Stills and a New Trailer Soon

I'm seriously getting swoony over all the new pictures that have been coming out, not to mention the tease of a NEW trailer debuting at the MTV Video Music Awards, Sept 13.

The newest issue of People magazine, there were a few more new stills, in addition to the previous ones we showed here.

An intense, intimate moment between Bella and Edward. I keep hearing the line from the official website, Cullen House. "Every second that I am with you is about restraint..." Shiver!

Alice and Jasper looking adorable together, as always.
*Amber here - I love Jasper, I really do, but this wig looks like an apricot poodle died on his head*

The lovely ladies at Robsessed had these today. Three beautiful pictures from the birthday party.

I'm in tears just looking at this picture, knowing what is coming. *sniffle*

Everyone is so happy at this point..awwww...

Pretty Bella and Smirky Edward. *swoon*

Thanks to TwiCrackAddict for the People pics.

Wednesday Wrap-Up

*Stand by, Kerry got distracted after uploading the picture to your left.*

I'm sitting here this morning, sifting through Twilight news and various blogs (check the blogrolls, so many awesome people out there) drinking my coffee. I live in Washington state, about a 4 hour drive from Forks, and it's a good drizzly vampires-are-out kind of day. Twilight is playing in the background, thanks to a request from my youngest. (You can see I've instilled the important things..) It's a good time then, to review the last week and see what we've missed.

Are you ready to Scream?

Can Twilight sweep another awards show? MTV Movie Awards, Teen Choice Awards, whenever the fans get to vote for the winners, Twilight seems to dominate. This time around it's Spike TV's Scream awards. The movie and cast are nominated for a number of categories again:

  • The Ultimate Scream – Twilight
  • Best Fantasy Film – Twilight
  • Best Fantasy Actress – Kristen Stewart, Twilight
  • Best Fantasy Actor – Robert Pattinson, Twilight
  • Best Supporting Actress – Ashley Greene, Twilight
  • Best Breakout Performance – Taylor Lautner, Twilight
  • Robert Pattinson, Twilight
  • Best Ensemble – Twilight
  • Scream Song of the Year – “Decode” by Paramore, Twilight
  • Best Villain – Cam Gigandet as James
You can vote for all your favorite Twilight folks here, then watch them win on October 27 (10 days after taping...ok...) at 10pm EST on Spike.

Is it November yet?

Tickets for New Moon are already becoming available in some areas on the Fandango website. I know it's two months early, but if you and I are counting down the days, you can better the rest of the Twi-fandom is. Buy them early, get the showing you want! Who's going to the midnight showing?

Who doesn't want Rob?

Death Cab for Cutie was recently confirmed for the New Moon soundtrack. and they'll be shooting the video for "Meet Me at the Equinox". Bassist Nick Harmer spoke about their desire to have some shots of the cast in the video.

“I’m of the mind-set that the more Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner you can throw in the video, the more popular the video is going to be. Nobody wants to look at us, so we’ll probably be standing in the shadows.”

Vicious Cows

MTV spoke with Edi Gathegi recently about his final scene in the Twilight saga. You have to love Edi, he's so funny. He talks about some of the challenges in filming scenes with mostly CGI characters.

When asked whether his character’s penultimate showdown was more of a fight or a chase, Gathegi remained mostly mum, but did concede that it was hard acting with something that wasn’t there. “We basically acted with a man holding a piece of cardboard shaped like a cow. So when you see the movie, look at my eyes and [decide], is he seeing a cow or is he seeing a wolf?”

Read the rest of the article here.

Whoa, dude..Slow your roll..

Alex Meraz (Paul) also had some funny stuff for MTV. Apparently, he really embraced his character and added some physicality to a scene with Kristen Stewart.

“[Director] Chris Weitz comes off-set like, ‘Yeah, I like the energy Alex, but just take it down a little,’ ” (Chaske) Spencer chimed in: “Meanwhile the producers are freaking out back there.”

” ‘Cause nobody touches Kristen Stewart,” joked Meraz.

More on that here.

That's MAJOR Jasper Whitlock to you...Sir.

MTV was all over the recent round of Twilight Conventions. Here's an interview with Jackson Rathbone regarding Jasper's Civil War days and his special ability.

Twitter Love for Twilight Fans

The little gems keep rolling in. Peter Facinelli, Billy Burke and David Slade have all tweeted little tidbits to keep us salivating for more from the set and cast.

Peter let Kellen Lutz tweet from his account last night.

Billy had us all running for the Brain Bleach with his comment.

David shared a bit from the set.

Billy again, it's safe..go ahead and read.

Well, Twilight is over, and my coffee cup is empty, so I'm going to wrap up our wrap up here. Never fear, there is ALWAYS more Twi-news coming.

Thanks to newmoonmovie.org, eclipsemovie.org and TwiCrackAddict for pics and captures.

New Moon Candy

The hubs called from the store the other night asking me if the New Moon candies I had were the "Heart's Desire" ones. They were not, so of course I told him to pick some up. Here they are. They are available in three different wrappers, Edward, Jacob and Bella, but I had to buy two packs to get one of each...this particular one had one Bella and five Edwards!

The wrappers...I apologize for the quality on these. I'll try to scan the wrappers this evening.
All of these candies look like this. They have cream flavored filling. The Hubs compared them to a Cadbury Cream Egg for flavor.
Now these, my mom bought for me last week. They come in a bag of 24 and there were several of all, although more Edward than anything else.
The wrappers. Again, I'll try to scan some tonight to give you a better view.
The Bella...cream filled, like the above
The Jacob...peanut butter filled. (My favorite taste-wise)
The Edward...caramel filled. (My favorite looks-wise. It's just so detailed.)
I'll be honest, I thought about doing a giveaway with these, but I'm afraid they would melt in transit. They are tasty and I'm sure they will be showing up in a lot of Twilight goody bags come New Moon party time! I'm already thinking that I may stock up on these to pass out at Halloween! I found these at Kroger and Walgreens.
So, what do you think?
