Not Even Making Excuses. These Are Just Beautiful

Vanity Fair routinely produces some of my favorite pictures. These are just gorgeous! Part of the Rome Vanity Fair photo shoot last year by Fabrice Dall'Anese, these outtakes were finally released for our viewing pleasure. I love the pictures of the two of them, always beautiful together.

*Sigh* I kinda miss the hair...

Counting Down to Sam Bradley

There is a lot about to happen with Sam Bradley one week from today. August 29 marks Sam's birthday, the launch of SamBradley.com and the release of his self-titled EP! The Land of Dreamers is making these awesome countdown pages, so of course, I cannot resist any excuse to post about Sam. Help to spread the word that the wait is almost over for Sam's first official release! If you are not following Sam on twitter, what are you waiting for? He announced a secret show over twitter earlier this week with clues leading to a game of "Where in America is Sam Bradley?" that was quite amusing. Don't forget Sam also has some new music up on his MySpace page. Check him out, you'll love him!
I'll be running my feature on Sam on the t5m blog on Friday. Don't miss it!
Remember, for more information on Sam, Marcus or Bobby, you can always check out Shack of Soul!

Fan Made Friday, My Latest Discovery

Earlier this week I was searching for some Eclipse artwork and came across this gem of an artist. Twilight Saga Fan Trish has an amazing collection of movie posters and wallpapers that she has created.

Here are a few of my favorites. You can click to see the larger versions, and definitely spend some time looking at all her wonderful work. Trish was kind enough to give us permission to use her work here, so please take a moment to comment on her flickr page and be sure to ask permission before reposting any of her images.

LOVE the eyes..

Interview with Julia Jones: Leah Clearwater

I've lost count of how many times I've read the Twilight series now. I love that every time I read it, I discover a new element or gain a new understanding of a part of the story. This last time through, I really got into Leah's character. Her heartbreak over Sam, having to deal with being a part of the pack, the total loneliness of her life is so touching. The bond that she and Jacob form, that helps them both deal with where they are in life, is amazing.

So, because of this, I've been anxious to learn about the actress that will bring Leah to life for us in Eclipse (and Breaking Dawn..but I'm assuming). I happened across this interview from SEGN, via Twilight Examiner. I love that every actor in these movies, even the supporting roles, has really taken a deep interest in the series and their characters.

You can listen to the interview here

So, It's a Twilight Premiere.. That Makes It About Twilight, Right?

Ok, technically this is a TWILIGHT blog, not a Rob blog, but you know...it's...related.

A few outtakes from the Rome Twilight premiere and signing. You can see more over at ROBsessed, because they ARE a Rob blog, and don't have to come up with clever excuses.

Free Twilight Screening in Central Park Tomorrow!

If you will be in New York City tomorrow night, you can catch Twilight in Central Park. The free showing will start at 8pm as part of the Central Park Film Festival.

You can get all the info here.

I would LOVE to see Twilight on the big screen again. I was so late to the game that I only saw the movie once in the theater.

A Robert Pattinson of my very own...

The wonderful Ang (aka @amcas) from Why Not? asked several of us Twilight twitter girls the other night who our favorite Rob was and then gifted us with lovely collages. This is mine...(Click to enlarge)You must go to her post to see all the other wonderful collages she made. There are 33 more! Wow, and I thought it was hard to choose a Cullen boy! For this, we owe Ang our undying devotion!

We have a Leah and Seth! (Bree confirmed)

Reports are starting to come in that Summit has confirmed who has been cast in the roles of Leah and Seth Clearwater. Leah, the high school sweetheart of Sam and cousin of Emily, will be played by Julia Jones. Her younger brother Seth, who eventually joins the pack and becomes a huge supporter of the vampires, will be played by BooBoo Stewart. I think it's interesting that he's done stunt work in the past.
So what do you think? Is this how you pictured Leah and Seth? I'm happy with the casting. I can't wait to see them in action. Today's news isn't all about the wolf pack. Summit has now confirmed that Jodelle Ferland, whose involvement was previously announced, will be playing the role of Bree.

Eclipse Set Update (Spoilers Ahead)

Yesterday, Peter Facinelli tweeted that filming for Eclipse finally got underway. I am both excited and nervous about this. Of all the books, Eclipse is the one I am most worried about making the transition to the screen. I have to say, though, that much of what I am hearing is putting my fears to rest. I've been concerned that they would focus TOO much on the love triangle, making it a 2-hour soap opera, but with the casting of Royce King and Maria, and the extensive fight training the cast has reported gives me hope that they'll give all the elements of the story their due.

Lainey over at Lainey's Gossip reported this morning that yesterday was spent filming Jasper's backstory. Jackson in a Confederate uniform and on horseback anyone?

-Kerry

P.S. Mr. Slade? I know I said I didn't want *just* a soap opera, but don't forget to give us all those lovely romantic moments, either.

Book cover image from Stephenie Meyer's site.

*Amber here* My worry is that we're going to see it done more of a bloody vampire pic and less of the love triangle. David Slade's previous vampire movie is the main reason for that fear. I realize there is a lot more action in Eclipse, and I'm glad we've got a director who has experience with that, I just hope the rest of the story isn't lost. With all the fight training, I'm really concerned. Having said that, as long as I get my tent scenes...I should be reasonably satisfied. (Fingers crossed and hoping!)

I am really excited about seeing the character back stories!

Stephenie Meyer Recommends and Recognizes

Our favorite author updated her official website today:

"
Hey everybody! I hope you all had a great summer. I'm sorry I don't update more, but it's crazy how busy you can be without really having anything to update about. I decided to do an end of the summer recap like I did last year—just the books and music and movies I enjoyed most. I love to share good stuff.
"

She gives some excellent recommendations of several books she's enjoyed this summer. (Stephenie? You mean I have to put down YOUR books?!?!) Plus, a good list of music, and we all know how inspiring Stephenie finds music. I have to say, my musical awareness has greatly increased since reading Twilight. Stephenie's playlists, movie soundtrack, other fan recommendations, Bobby, Sam and Marcus, a LOT of music I was unfamiliar with eight months ago. I love music, so I've really enjoyed the additions to my playlists.

Stephenie also recognized her fans, of course. I love that she gets just as excited by us as we do about her books. I love that she lurks about the fansites, (giddy at even the possibility that she might stop by our little blog here). She even gave a specific shout out to our friends at Letters To Twilight. If you haven't been by there before, stop by for non-stop laughs and snark.

Read her entire update here!

Happy Monday, hope everyone has a great week!

Why you DON'T twitter locations! New Interview with Rob

There is a new interview with Rob in the Daily Record (UK) that talks about how twitter has changed his life, in his own words. People, this is why if you know where Rob is or where he is going to be, you don't send it out on twitter! Here is an excerpt...

"It means Robert is mobbed wherever he goes by screaming girls, especially since the explosion of social networking site Twitter.

"I can't remember what my normal life is like," he admitted in one of his quieter moments.

"Because of internet stuff and Twitter, there will be a crowd if you are in a place for more than half an hour.

"I've learned never to stay in the same place for more than 20 minutes."

He laughed, seemingly still amazed at the Beatles-like level of fandom he has following him.

While many would love that kind of adulation, anyone watching Robert when doing interviews will see he finds the situation difficult to deal with."

This makes me so incredibly sad, I can't even begin to tell you. I highly recommend that you read the entire article. This is one of the most honest pieces I've read in a while. It's not overrun with gossip and innuendo. Warning...here comes a soapbox moment..

I was absolutely horrified when the pics and videos came out last weekend of Rob and Kristen. The paparazzi have now stooped to new lows. Chasing his car, hanging out from upper stories to photograph them without their knowledge and so forth. I wanted to write about it at the time, but I think I was just too riled up. I'm still not going to go into my feelings on the subject because if you think that's okay, I doubt there is anything I can say here to change your mind. It's long been the rule that Eyes of Amber is a paparazzi-free site. That claim was challenged by the fact that we posted pictures from the TCA Awards. Yes, technically those pics are taken by some of the same photographers. The difference is the setting. So maybe I need to make the statement a little more detailed to clear up any confusion.

If the people being photographed are at an event, posing for photos, it does not violate my ban. When they are in this type of situation they expect to be photographed. That is part of the job. When actors are on screen, they are ours, when they are at fan events, they are giving their time to us. When they are off screen, and not in a situation such as a photo call, a premiere, an autograph signing, they do not belong to us and they owe us absolutely nothing! If they are kind enough to sign autographs or take pictures with fans while walking down the street or in any other public situation, that is out of their own kindness and certainly not to be expected.

If you are an accountant, wouldn't it drive you crazy if everywhere you went people were following you around with their taxes or their stock portfolios? If you are a dentist, would you want everyone you meet on the street to "open wide" and ask you to check that spot on their molar? Everyone wants to be able to leave their jobs behind and clock out sometimes. It should be the same for actors. These people give a huge amount of themselves to us every time they step in front of a camera. When they are not "on the clock" they don't owe us anything.

We, however, because they are human beings with real lives, families and emotions, do owe them respect. We should have enough respect for them and for ourselves not to throw them into the lion's den by sending out their location information over twitter, or any other form of mass communication. Not only is it irresponsible, it can become downright dangerous for all the people involved, whether it is the celebrity in question or the people rushing to get to that location. Let's please exercise some class and decorum here. Do we really want these gifted stars to feel like hunted animals?

Okay, stepping down off soapbox now. You really should read the entire article. It's the closest thing we've had to the old Rob interviews in a long time. Rob My World also has a great post related to this article.

Thanks to Lorabell at TwiCrack Addict for writing about this one. (And if I really need to tell you where this pic is from, you need to spend more time on this blog...LOL)

Happy Birthday Cam!

Cam Gigadnet is 27 today!

I have to be honest, I seriously wish they'd come up with a way to bring Cam back in Eclipse or Breaking Dawn as another character. He was barely recognizable when he was James, right? Oh well, I just really love this guy!
Happy Birthday Cam! I hope this birthday is even more special because you have the blessing of being a daddy this year!
