Cullen, Edward Cullen.

Unless Quantum of Solace has a miraculous breakthrough in the next 48 hours, Twilight has beat it out for the number 8 spot in the top earning movies of 2008. You can see the whole list on Twilight Lexicon here.
Twilight beating James that's awesome.

My Twilight Christmas

My husband and I have a tradition of putting pet names and such on our gifts to each other so I was not surprised to see a gift from Edward to Bella, but I did think it was pretty awesome that the top one was from Edward to Amber! The tube-shaped package was of course an Edward poster. I didn't take a picture with it and it is currently on top of the book shelf rolled up waiting for a frame.
The gift to Bella from Edward was a cool mat for my laptop, something I have been needing for a long time.

Next I opened the gift on the lower I was doing so, he said he thought that it was something I probably didn't even know existed, and he was right! A full cast jigsaw puzzle!

And for the gift I was so eagerly anticipating, the one labeled from Edward to Amber...Looks like I did get Edward for Christmas!

Just one more

I promise, this is my last post of paparazzi pics of Rob. It's hard to resist, but I just feel like he's entitled to his privacy. He's back home in London for the holidays. The top picture was taken at Heathrow Airport. It certainly gives a better comparison...but you've got to love Rob in the shades, too...
My verdict? I love Rob with the short hair, it's adorable. However, I just can't see him as Edward that way. Hopefully by the time they start filming it will have grown back out. I mean, if they have to, they could do his scenes toward the end of filming even. I know he was hoping that Edward could have a different hairdo, but with him being a vampire, I just don't see that happening.

A really funny picture

I can't even remember where I came across this, but it's pretty funny to see "James" in this state!

Lauren's Commentary

I keep reading this and making other people read You have to check it out here.

I laugh the hardest when I get to this picture...Lauren is hilarious!

To my husband...

If Santa brings me Edward for Christmas...can I keep him?

More Haircut Shots

Okay, Rob's new haircut is killing my paparazzi ban, so rather than post any other pics of such a nature, I'm posting a link this time. These are much better shots.

I normally don't post the paparazzi stuff, because, well, I think that people are entitled to their privacy no matter what their chosen profession, but I had to make an exception here. Rob cut his hair. The title of the post on the Lexicon is "It Will Grow Back" and while this is true, I count myself among those who will enjoy this short-haired Rob while it lasts. One of the comments made an interesting point...what will he run his hands through now when he's nervous?

Oh, Give me a break!

Apparently Michael Copon makes a habit of running his mouth. Although he starts out by saying he has "nothing against Taylor personally," he certainly rakes him over the coals. He's so sure he's better for the role of Jacob, yet he hasn't even read the second or third books! To the best of my knowledge, there is no such thing as "Cliff's Notes" for New Moon and Eclipse! And he actually told Rob that he'd like to be in Twilight 2, and asked Rob who he played in the first one?!?!?!?!

This is definitely not who we want for Jacob. I'm waiting to hear the results of Taylor's lunch with Chris Weitz this afternoon. In the meantime, you can read the interview with Michael Copon here.

The good news just keeps rolling in...

From Twilight Lexicon:
Question: When does it get better than having your novel named "Book of the Year" by USA Today?
Answer: When they decide that your five books have dominated their bestseller list so much over the last year that they name you Author of the Year instead in their first time giving such an honor!

Stephenie has also been named by TIME Magazine as one of the "People Who Mattered" in 2008. I highly recommend clicking on the link in this article. There are some gorgeous pictures of Stephenie and some neat tidbits of information.

Congratulations, Ladies!

Twilighters have been named MTV News' Woman of the Year! Check out the article. You can actually send in your acceptance speech. Really cool to see the fans recognized. An individual Twilighter appeared on the list as well, with Hayley Williams of Paramore coming in at number nine.

As for the Man of the Year, Rob made the list at number four.

(Does anyone else think it's a little weird that both Beyonce and Sasha Fierce were on the list?)

Taylor's getting ready

Despite all the speculation out there, Taylor is preparing to play Jacob in New Moon. He's already put on 19 pounds of muscle and has promised Chris Weitz another 10 pounds by filming. You can read more and see the interview with him here. I have to say, I was one of the naysayers in the beginning when he was first cast, but I'm totally won over now. I can't imagine going to see anyone else as Jacob. I suppose we'll see what happens after Friday.

My Twilight Christmas presents

I am now the proud owner of the Edward collection from They have a scent for Edward, Bella, Jacob and Alice. I like this a lot and my husband loves it. And this little beauty went on my tree as soon as I got it out of the package. I found this ornament on Etsy from Pure Lacyness.
I am working on my wish list of Twilight items for when our tax return comes At least I'm lucky enough to have a hubby who loved the movie and feeds my obsession.

How could you not love this guy?

I mean, he says, "Bless her heart." What a sweetie!

Does anyone else find this frustrating?

Variety is reporting that New Moon will be released on November 20, 2009. Call me crazy, but saying it is "confirmed" is ridiculous at this point. When the first second of film hasn't been shot and they haven't even casted the new roles and the new director has been on the job for all of two days? Sounds like putting the cart before the horse to me. And just makes me worry that much more that Summit isn't truly concerned with the quality of this film, just how quickly they can get it in the theater.

And in other really upsetting news, which I first learned about from Lauren, it seems all but certain that Taylor is going to be replaced as Jacob.

And it appears that this guy is the current front runner. You can read the MTV article here. This is Michael Copone, who, you find out by checking his imdb, was once the blue power ranger! Jacob is SO not a power ranger!

How do I feel about this? I've officially joined Team Pouting. Taylor completely won me over with his enthusiasm and the nasty screen chemistry he had with Rob. I mean, yes, Jacob is supposed to grow substantially and look 26 by Eclipse, but Bella was supposed to cook for Charlie every night and the "meadow" scene was supposed to actually take place in a meadow. And do not even get me started on what Edward and Bella's first kiss was really like! There has already been artistic license involved in making these books come alive, why not give Taylor a shot to see what he can do. A shot at what he was brought on to do. Okay, that's my rant for the moment. I haven't had much time to read today so I'm sure I'll have other issues tomorrow.

Rob looking...not like Rob

Rob is so versatile. He can look like Edward Cullen... Orlando Bloom
or Justin Timberlake.

Something to look at until the next post

The only word for these is wow...
In some odd way he makes me think of Dierks Bentley in these pictures, pre- "Long Trip Alone" video. But hey, that's not a bad thing.

Letter from Stephenie/Chris

It has been confirmed that Chris Weitz is to be the director for New Moon. After reading the letter Stephenie wrote on her website and the letter that Chris sent out, I'm feeling like he may be a good choice. Stephenie seems very optimistic and if he's dedicated to staying true to the book, we should have a good result. We've got to remember that Rob and Kristen are very vested in this story too.

You can read both letters on Stephenie's website here.

I am working on updating my blog list in the sidebar, but I hit the wrong button and lost it all and it's late so I'm going to bed.

Eyes of Amber

This is my new blog devoted to all things Twilight. I chose Eyes of Amber for the name because, well first of all, my name is Amber, but it's also the color of Edward's eyes when he is well fed. I thought it was a nice fit for a Twilight blog.

I was originally an Edward girl, but the more times I read the books and see the movies, I still love Edward dearly, but I have to say I've become more of a Cullen girl, finding so much to love about all members of the family. I'm on my fourth reading of Twilight, I've read New Moon and Eclipse three times and I'm also reading Breaking Dawn for the third time. I've seen the movie three times. All of this since having been introduced to the series only 13 months ago, and I even had a baby during that time!

I will be doing a lot of opinion pieces and general gushing I'm sure, but I'll also be posting updates on the series, the movies, and anything else Twilight related. My inspiration for this blog came from Lauren's Bite, a totally awesome Twilight blog. Be sure to check it out.
